African swine fever (ASF) in Germany: mandatory additional Cleansing & Disinfection transport vehicles in the Netherlands

Due to the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Germany, transport vehicles for ungulates (pigs, cattle, sheep, goats and deer) that return or enter from Germany to the Netherlands require additional cleansing and disinfection (C&D) immediately after entering the Netherlands.

In some EU countries an additional cleansing and disinfection (2nd C&D) of transport vehicles for poultry or hatching eggs is mandatory. This is necessary to prevent the spread of the contagious (highly pathogenic) variant of bird flu (or HPAI). The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) has published a list of those countries on it’s international (EN) website.

Due to a new outbreak outbreak of contagious (highly pathogenic) bird flu (HPAI) at kept poultry in Sweden transport vehicles for poultry [1] or hatching eggs that return or enter from Sweden to the Netherlands require additional cleansing and disinfection (C&D) immediately after entering the Netherlands.
